Hair and Makeup Information: ***HIGHLY ENCOURAGED*** at an additional rate

Female-identifying makeup starts at $275-300. (Hair is optional but highly encouraged. When booking, make a note that you do not want hair — you can always change your mind to the day leading up.)

Male identifying grooming is $175-$200; basic coverage application and hair styling.

I highly encourage having a hair and makeup artist there. The camera catches everything on your face, and makeup & hair can make all the difference. The MUA will not alter how you look; she will replicate what you would normally look like in the audition room, making you look and feel great, and allowing you to focus on the work we do rather than worry about what you look like, fixing hair and makeup yourself.

For male-identifying clients, I understand you may not wear makeup daily, but having male grooming there is more beneficial than not during your photo session — the camera captures every spot and redness /discoloration on your face, so if you do not have coverage on, please note that it will be shown on camera.

Who are your makeup artists?

Whoever is available on the day we book will be our HMU artist, unless requested for a specific artist:

Carly Hughes, Alex Leyva, Alex Leshkevich, Bridie Coughlan.

Your Picks & Final Gallery
It will take up to 10 business days after your session to receive your photos. You will receive a gallery of your entire shoot ready to download. You will pick the number of retouched photos that come with your package. If you want more retouched photos, it will be an additional fee of $25 each.

Please note that what is done on camera during our session cannot be altered in retouches; hair and makeup will remain what it is on camera, as well as hairstyling and background colors. Retouching is made to elevate, not manipulate.

Cancellation Policy: There is a $155 non-refundable deposit when you schedule a session with me that goes towards the total of the session. ($5 of this goes to fees). If you cancel, you will not receive your deposit back. If you have to reschedule and set a specific time and date, I will move that deposit to that session. You are allowed up to 1 reschedule due to conflicts. If you reschedule more than once, I will require a rescheduling fee of $155 that does not go toward the total of your session. If you cancel within 24-hours of your session, you will automatically be charged $155.

Rescheduling: Client must reschedule at least 48-hours in advance. A reschedule within 48 hours of the shoot time will require a new deposit of $155, to be sent via Zelle or Venmo.

No-Shows: If you do not show up for your session, there is a no-show fee of 80% of your photo session, as well as 80% of the HMUAs rates. If you are running late, please get in touch with me as soon as possible to let me know so you are not charged a no-show fee.

In the scenario that you contact me to reschedule your already scheduled session and do not create a new date with me, my system will automatically assume you are on for your original date. If you are a no-show in this case, it will still require 80% of the photo session for me, and 80% of the HMUA's rates.

I also do not offer free re-shoots. If you want something different than what we already shot, you can re-book with me for a new shoot! With that, it is important you speak up during your session to get your desired results. Changes to color backgrounds and outfit choices cannot be made once the shoot is over and in post-production. I strongly encourage actors to understand and respectfully verbalize their needs and wants as much as they can during the shoot.

Payment:

For payment, Zelle or cash for no-fee transactions; a third option is Venmo with small fees. The form of payment for your makeup artist will be these options. We do not take Paypal or Cashapp. You will have paid the online deposit when booking, the remaining payment will be made on the day of our session. No payment plans available.

FAQs:

Where are you located? How long is a session?

Manhattan, New York. You will receive the address when booking. A session will last anywhere between 2 hours to 3 and a half hours, depending on the looks and what type of work you are going to be doing that day, as well as if you have a HMUA. If you do not have a HMUA there, it can be between 1 - 2 hours maximum.

What is a “look”?

For your headshots, you have booked with me based on the number of looks that you want. A "look" is a role/ character type or an archetype. Before coming in, think about what roles you see yourself playing, which can be pulled from plays, musicals, TV/film, so that I can achieve that with the color backdrops we choose as well as the outfit, hair, and makeup. This way, you will have a variety of shots that fit into the roles you go out for. BE SPECIFIC! Think of what the characters you play would wear as well as what you would in an audition. The more you understand yourself as an actor, the more successful the photos will be. Try to think about this before your shoot, and answer these ideas in the drop-down once you book with me. If you still are unsure after thinking about it, we can always talk about it once you arrive, as we will discuss in more detail what we choose for your outfits.

When we are in the process of working together, we will concentrate on being in the world of these characters, allowing you to have intention telling a story through the photos. No photo is without depth; we want to be able to tell the casting director/agent/director the story you are to tell.

Layering is a great way to jazz up the looks you already have by adding jackets, headbands, jewelry, nondistracting accessories. If you add a sweater or jacket that completely covers up the look you had on, then that is an additional look that you will be invoiced for.

What are personality shots?

Think of personality as more “branding” yourself as an actor. How do you want to be seen? In a business sense, what direction do you aim to go to, and how can we visually showcase that for you? While it is the same as described above, I want to elevate you as a business as much as possible, if that is your angle with personality shots. Talk with your agent or manager if they know what they want. If you book personality, more detailed information on this type of shoot will be in the prep sheet you receive in your inbox.

Which package should I do?

The Double Take is perfect for actors who are just starting out, or experienced actors who need a couple of new specific headshot looks to add to their headshot portfolio/media.

The Big Three is ideal for actors looking to completely update and rebrand their headshots/branding from ones that are old and outdated. This package is great to have a perfect yet specific variety of looks that you can use to submit for any role type and audition as well as updating their website with new media that represents them today.

The Four Lewks is the exact package for the experienced / trained actor looking to complete their headshot/branding portfolio for all new branding shots to not only use for media but also any casting calls, as well as allowing the actor to focus completely on all role types. This does not have to exclusively be used for headshots and personality, it can be just headshots.

To request more looks beyond four, please let me know in your inquiry!

Can I do a combination of a personality shoot and headshot shoot in one session?

Yes! You can do whichever combination you’d like. Note that one look = a headshot or a personality. So you cannot count one look as half headshots and half personality.

Can I purchase a “look” during the session?

Depending on how we are running on time, adding a look is possible! But it is always great to book ahead of time the desired number of looks so that we can set aside that time for you.

Why would I opt for a hair and makeup artist?

The camera catches everything on your face, and makeup & hair done for you can make all the difference. The HMUA will not alter how you look, rather they will replicate what you would normally look like in the audition room, making you look and feel great, allowing you to focus on the work we do rather than worrying about what you look like, fixing hair and makeup by yourself. All pictures you see on this site have had my HMUA there! Most importantly, the products our HMUAs use are made specifically for on-camera work. Regular day-today products may not read the exact same on camera, causing the photo to be entirely affected.

What clothes do I need to bring?

More details on that will follow in the prep sheet sent to you once you have booked.

Do you have a steamer?

Yes. There is a steamer here.

Do you do dance photography?

I do not do dance photography — if you are looking for a dance photographer, I recommend Jon Taylor and James Jin.

I’ve never done a headshot session before, I am nervous!

Being nervous and anxious before a headshot session is totally normal! Our HMUA and I are here to calm those nerves for you to look and feel your best. If you haven’t ever had a headshot session before, that is OK! We will guide you during the entire shoot to get you your most successful headshot session yet. Reading through and preparing with the prep sheet will best set you up for success during our session.

Can I bring a friend?

I highly recommend not bringing in anyone else to your session other than yourself. While a friend may make you feel more at ease, being able to focus on yourself and the work we do is the most important task to be done during our session. Having a friend can sometimes be distracting for actors or myself, so being there as the fabulous you is all we could ever need for this! If you are 18 and younger, you are allowed to bring a guardian or parent, but if you can come here on your own, the process will be smoother.

Coming back again?

All returning clients will receive $25 off any package of their choice.

I occasionally bring one of my persian cats to the studio!

If you love cats, they will be happy to greet you! If you prefer not to have them at the studio because of allergies, no hard feelings - just let me know you are allergic and they will stay home. That being said, they have low dander and will not bother you - most clients feel at ease to be next to a pet while getting ready. They are friendly and don't hurt a fly; quite literally, they are too scared of anything that moves besides a human.

I allow up to 1 reschedule for your session. If you have to reschedule after already doing so once, you have to re-book with another deposit. You must reschedule at least 48-hours in advance.
